Short pen needlesReliable subcutaneous injection
To achieve a good effect with the insulin dose, it is essential to inject insulin into subcutaneous fatty tissue (subcutaneous injection) and not into the muscle below. Injecting insulin into the muscle can cause unexpected fluctuations in blood glucose values, as well as severe hypoglycemia.
- Short pen needles reduce the risk of inadvertent intramuscular injections.
- 4 mm and 5 mm pen needles simplify the injection technique. Injections can often be given at a 90-degree angle without forming a skin fold (children, adolescents, and thin adults should form a skin fold).
A 4 mm, 5 mm pen needle usually permits a safe subcutaneous injection, even without forming a skin fold. Follow your diabetes counselor's recommendations.
Long pen needles increase the risk of intramuscular injection.

Aquí no se venden en farmacia, y actualmente no es momento de ir al CS a mendigarlas. Además, te marean de un sitio a otro, para al final darte un puñado que no te da ni para el principio del tratamiento. Ideal tener un sitio donde poder comprarlas.
